- A natural quartz. Not a made one. Out of the ground, cut and set by hand. Yours will not match the photograph exactly — that is the point.

The story
The same physics as a soap bubble and a beetle’s back.
Kunzite for the open chest, aquamarine for the calm mouth, clear quartz for the uncluttered line between them.
What these stones are carried for
Kunzite — unconditional love, an open heart, forgiveness. Aquamarine — calm, courage, clear speech. Clear quartz — clarity. The three are usually worn separately; put together they are the whole sentence rather than one word of it. Offered as folklore, which is what it is.

When would it get here?
It is posted to you directly from our maker, tracked and signed for — to the United Kingdom that is 5–10 days, usually within a week. The date in the buying panel above is the real latest date it should be with you; it moves forward every day and it is not a countdown put there to hurry you.
What is the bracelet made from?
Natural stone beads strung on elastic, with stainless steel spacers and findings. The stone is named on this page. This is not a 925 sterling-silver piece, and we price and describe it accordingly.
How is it worn?
As it comes. The measurements are visible in the photographs above, and the piece is described on the page in the same words we would use in person.
What if I change my mind, or it does not fit?
Fourteen days from the day it arrives to tell us, and a further fourteen to post it back — that is the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and we do not try to write around it. Faulty or not as described is always our cost. The whole policy is here, in plain English.
Do you post to where I live?
The UK, the twenty-seven EU countries and Australia. To the UK the delivery is free on every order, tracked and signed for. Europe and Australia are free too, apart from the smallest bracelets, where a small tracked postage is shown at checkout, before you pay — never added afterwards. If your country is not on the list at checkout, we cannot post there yet, and we would rather say so than take your money and find out.

Clear quartz is the oldest and plainest of the carried stones — the one people reached for when they wanted nothing added.

Less known
Interference, not colour
Mystic quartz carries a metallic film a fraction of a wavelength thick. Light bouncing off the top of it and light bouncing off the bottom interfere with each other, and what you see is that interference. Not a pigment. Not a dye. Geometry — the same physics as a soap bubble and a beetle’s back.

It came from lens-making
The technique comes out of optical coating — the industry that makes camera lenses and telescope mirrors. A strange and rather lovely place for a gemstone to have come from.
