Asi8 — Turkish. Untamed. Eight for abundance. The one that was never made to obey.
Before there was a word for beautiful, there was a stone.
It formed in the dark, under pressure, over a span of time no one alive can hold in their head. No one designed it. No one approved it. It became what it became because the earth had no other way of making it.
We can cut it. We can polish it, set it in silver, put it on a chain. But the one thing anyone has never managed to do is make it. Every stone we sell was finished long before we found it.
That is why the brand is called Asi — Turkish for untamed. It is the oldest honest word we know for a thing that will not be told what to be.
We think some women recognise themselves in that.
Not the loud kind of untamed. The quiet kind. The woman who was told what to want, what to feel, what to settle for — and who went and found out for herself instead. Who trusts a feeling in her chest over a very reasonable argument. Who has been called too much, and decided that was a description rather than a criticism.
We choose jewellery for her.
And the eight
The number comes from further east, where it has been counted as the figure of abundance for centuries. Merchants chose it. Doors and dates were picked for it. It is the number people reach for when they mean more than enough.
We took it because wanting more than enough is not something we think you should have to apologise for.
Untamed, then — and not asked to be modest about it.
One stone. One intention.
No two of these stones are the same. The one in the photograph has already gone to someone else; yours will have its own veining, its own clouding, its own depth of colour. That is not a flaw in the material. That is the material.
When you order you choose one intention — Love. Abundance. Protection. Clarity. Courage. Stillness. — and a card goes in the parcel naming the stone and the intention you chose.
It is a card, not a claim. We are not telling you the object will do something to you. We are telling you which stone it is, and what you said you were carrying when you chose it.
It is with you in about a week
Five to ten days to the United Kingdom, tracked and signed for. Six to twelve working days to Europe, eight to fifteen to Australia.
We do not hold stock and we are not going to pretend we do. Your piece is posted to you directly from the workshop that makes it — which is why it reaches you faster than most people expect, and why there is no warehouse sitting in the price.
What we claim, and what we don't
We will tell you what a stone has traditionally been carried for, and by whom, and for how long. Turquoise has been travelling with people for six thousand years. Citrine sat where merchants counted money. Lapis was ground into the blue of illuminated manuscripts.
That is history, and it is true, and it is a good deal more interesting than a marketing claim.
What we will not tell you is that a rock will fix your life. We do not make medical, therapeutic or health claims of any kind, and you should be suspicious of anyone selling jewellery who does.
Some people feel something when they put a stone on. Some don't. We are not going to tell you which one you are. And if you don't believe in any of it — it is still a beautiful stone.
Where it comes from
We do not make these ourselves, and we are not going to imply that we do.
The pieces are made by a workshop we buy from, chosen design by design rather than ordered by the crate, and posted to you directly from there. What we do is choose — which stones, which settings, and which of them are honest about what they are.
Metal described as silver is solid sterling silver (925), never plated base metal. Where a stone has been heated, treated, coated or grown in a laboratory, the product page says so in the same plain words we would use for a natural one. The beaded bracelets are natural stone on elastic with stainless steel spacers, and their pages say that too.
That last part is the whole point. Most of this category will not tell you what you are actually buying. We will, on every page, before you pay.
We are very small. When you email us, a person reads it.
