We do not set diamonds. We set moissanite, and we say which is which on every product page.
Moissanite was found in 1893 in a meteorite crater in Arizona by Henri Moissan, who thought at first he had found diamond. Natural moissanite is so rare it is effectively unobtainable; everything sold today is grown in a lab.
It is harder than every gemstone except diamond, and it throws more coloured fire than diamond does — which is either the point or the tell, depending on what you want from a stone.
