This explains what we do with your personal data, in plain English. We collect what we need to make and send you a piece of jewellery, and not much else.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Sengun Electronics Ltd, trading as Asi8, company number 15496485, registered office 4 Raven Road, Unit 1c3-225, London E18 1HB. Contact us about anything on this page at asi8@asi8.com.
What we collect
| When you order | Name, email, delivery and billing address, phone number, what you bought, your chosen intention, and any sizing or engraving details you give us. |
| When you pay | Payment is handled by Shopify Payments and PayPal. We never see or store your full card number. We see only the last four digits, the card type, and whether it succeeded. |
| When you email us | Your message and anything in it, including any photographs you send. |
| When you subscribe | Your email address, and the date you gave it to us. |
| When you browse | Pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and how you arrived. See our Cookie Policy. |
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| Making and sending your order | Performance of our contract with you |
| Order updates — stone chosen, dispatch, tracking | Performance of our contract with you |
| Answering your emails | Legitimate interests — running a shop people can talk to |
| Preventing fraud | Legitimate interests, and legal obligation |
| Keeping tax and accounting records | Legal obligation — six years under UK law |
| Marketing emails | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Analytics and advertising cookies | Your consent, given through the cookie banner |
Who we share it with
Only those who need it to get your order made and delivered:
- Shopify Inc. — our shop platform and payment processing
- PayPal — where you choose to pay that way
- Delivery carriers — Royal Mail, DPD, Evri and equivalents outside the UK, who receive your name, address and phone number
- Our email provider — for order emails and, if you have subscribed, the newsletter
- Google Analytics and advertising platforms — only if you accept those cookies
- Our accountant, and HMRC — for the records we are legally required to keep
We do not sell your personal data. We never have and we are not going to.
Where your data goes
Some of our providers, including Shopify and Google, process data outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens, transfers are covered by UK International Data Transfer Agreements, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision — the safeguards UK law requires.
How long we keep it
| Order and transaction records | 6 years — required by UK tax law |
| Customer service emails | 2 years |
| Newsletter subscription | Until you unsubscribe, then removed |
| Analytics data | Up to 14 months |
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — ask for a copy of everything we hold about you
- Rectification — have anything wrong corrected
- Erasure — have your data deleted, except records we must keep for tax
- Restriction — ask us to pause processing while something is disputed
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting what was lawful before
Email asi8@asi8.com and we will respond within one month. It is free.
Marketing
We only email marketing to people who asked for it. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works immediately, and we do not send offers dressed up as order updates. Unsubscribing does not stop transactional emails about an order you have placed — you need those.
Security
The site runs over encrypted HTTPS. Payment card data never touches our systems. Access to customer data is limited to those who need it. No system is perfect; if a breach occurs that is likely to risk your rights, we will tell you and the ICO within 72 hours as the law requires.
Children
We do not sell to under-18s and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we hold a child's data, tell us and we will delete it.
Complaints
Please come to us first at asi8@asi8.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time — ico.org.uk, or 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be notified by email to anyone on our list.
