The story
The stone traders kept in the till, where the takings were counted.
Citrine is called the merchant's stone, and that name is worth being straight about: it is a modern one. It belongs to the crystal literature of the last hundred years, not to antiquity, and you will not find citrine under that title in the medieval lapidaries.
The reasoning underneath it is much older, and much plainer. A yellow stone the colour of gold, kept near where gold was counted, on the principle that like calls to like. It is sympathetic magic — the same logic that put red stones on wounds and green stones in gardens. Not a theory about minerals. A theory about resemblance.
It is one of the very few stones whose folklore is about commerce rather than love or war, and I find that refreshing. Every other stone in this collection is about how you feel. This one is about what you are owed.
Quartz is hard enough to be worn without ceremony — 7 on the Mohs scale, the same as the sand that scratches everything softer than it. A ring you can put on in the morning without thinking about it, which is the point of a stone with a job.
The merchant's stone was meant for the ordinary Tuesday, not the occasion.

When would it get here?
It is posted to you directly from our maker, tracked and signed for — to the United Kingdom that is 5–10 days, usually within a week. The date in the buying panel above is the real latest date it should be with you; it moves forward every day and it is not a countdown put there to hurry you.
Is the silver solid, or is it plated?
Solid 925 sterling silver, all the way through. We never plate base metal and call it silver. This particular design carries a plated finish over that silver, which is why it looks the colour it looks. Plating is a surface and it wears; the silver under it does not.
Will my stone look exactly like the photograph?
No, and it should not. Citrine comes out of the ground, so colour, depth and inclusions differ from one to the next. The photographs show a real one, not a rendering — yours will be its own. If that difference would disappoint you, write to us before you order and we will tell you honestly how much variation this stone has.
Do I need to know my ring size?
No. This one is adjustable — it opens across roughly three sizes, so it will fit somewhere on most hands and can move between fingers.
What if I change my mind, or it does not fit?
Fourteen days from the day it arrives to tell us, and a further fourteen to post it back — that is the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and we do not try to write around it. Faulty or not as described is always our cost. The whole policy is here, in plain English.
Do you post to where I live?
The UK, the twenty-seven EU countries and Australia. To the UK the delivery is free on every order, tracked and signed for. Europe and Australia are free too, apart from the smallest bracelets, where a small tracked postage is shown at checkout, before you pay — never added afterwards. If your country is not on the list at checkout, we cannot post there yet, and we would rather say so than take your money and find out.
Do I have to do the ThetaHealing part?
No. It is a ring, and it is a good ring on its own. The feeling download is written out above so you can read it, use it, or ignore it — nothing is charged for it and nothing is done without your say-so. Some people buy the piece for the stone and never think about the rest, and that is a completely ordinary way to own it.
Is any of this medical?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. What you read here about stones is history and folklore, told as history and folklore with dates and sources.
