The story
A rose-red garnet named after the rhododendron, first pulled out of a North Carolina creek in the 1890s.
Garnet is named after a fruit.
Granatum — the pomegranate. Break one open and the seeds are exactly this: dozens of small dark-red translucent things packed in tight, catching the light. Whoever named it had held both.
Which puts the stone straight into the oldest story about eating something you were told not to. Persephone takes six seeds in the underworld and it costs her half of every year. The pomegranate is never innocent in these stories. It is the thing you wanted, and the price, in the same hand.
Then there is the lantern. Rabbinic commentary on Genesis holds that the only light Noah had through the flood was a single stone, hung from the ceiling of the ark, glowing for a year while it rained. Later retellings name it as garnet. It is not in the text. It is what people decided the text needed.

This particular garnet is rhodolite — from the Greek rhodon, rose. It was identified in 1882 in Cowee Valley, North Carolina, by a mineralogist who realised the local purple-red garnets were their own thing. Barely a century and a half old as a name, which for a garnet makes it new.
The setting is a butterfly, and the band is adjustable — which I want to be honest about: adjustable means you can wear it on more than one finger and change your mind on a warm day. It also means it is not a ring you should keep bending back and forth for years.

Rhodolite of this colour and this size is the most expensive material in the first collection and I did not want to make it cheaper by using less of it.

When would it get here?
It is posted to you directly from our maker, tracked and signed for — to the United Kingdom that is 5–10 days, usually within a week. The date in the buying panel above is the real latest date it should be with you; it moves forward every day and it is not a countdown put there to hurry you.
Is the silver solid, or is it plated?
Solid 925 sterling silver, all the way through. We never plate base metal and call it silver. This particular design carries a plated finish over that silver, which is why it looks the colour it looks. Plating is a surface and it wears; the silver under it does not.
Will my stone look exactly like the photograph?
No, and it should not. Rhodolite garnet comes out of the ground, so colour, depth and inclusions differ from one to the next. The photographs show a real one, not a rendering — yours will be its own. If that difference would disappoint you, write to us before you order and we will tell you honestly how much variation this stone has.
Do I need to know my ring size?
No. This one is adjustable — it opens across roughly three sizes, so it will fit somewhere on most hands and can move between fingers.
What if I change my mind, or it does not fit?
Fourteen days from the day it arrives to tell us, and a further fourteen to post it back — that is the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and we do not try to write around it. Faulty or not as described is always our cost. The whole policy is here, in plain English.
Do you post to where I live?
The UK, the twenty-seven EU countries and Australia. To the UK the delivery is free on every order, tracked and signed for. Europe and Australia are free too, apart from the smallest bracelets, where a small tracked postage is shown at checkout, before you pay — never added afterwards. If your country is not on the list at checkout, we cannot post there yet, and we would rather say so than take your money and find out.
Do I have to do the ThetaHealing part?
No. It is a ring, and it is a good ring on its own. The feeling download is written out above so you can read it, use it, or ignore it — nothing is charged for it and nothing is done without your say-so. Some people buy the piece for the stone and never think about the rest, and that is a completely ordinary way to own it.
Is any of this medical?
