Eight pieces, mostly moonstone and opal. Moonstone is tied to the moon in almost every folklore that has one; the blue in it is not pigment but light bouncing off layers inside the stone, so it drifts as you turn your hand and never repeats. Opal is not a crystal at all — silica spheres stacked in a lattice with water still held between them. Amethyst, chrome diopside and Swiss blue topaz make up the rest.
