Kunzite

Pale in a way that looks like it has already forgiven something. Kunzite is the stone of the open heart — worn for love that does not cost the same as the last one, and given most often to someone who closed after a hard year.

It is only about a century old by name, identified in 1902 and named after the gemmologist George Kunz. The colour comes from manganese, and it fades in strong sun, which is a fair thing to know about a stone worn for staying open.
