Carnelian

The stone of vitality, motivation and getting started. Carnelian was cut into signet rings because hot wax will not stick to it, so it was literally the stone people used to make things official. Egyptian and Roman wearers kept it for courage and drive.

Chalcedony coloured by iron oxide. Warm all the way through, and it takes a very high polish.
