Year of the Rabbit — Chinese Zodiac Necklace

Soft is not the same as easy.

The rabbit holds Mao, the double hour of first light, and its element is wood — the one that grows rather than the one that burns. In Vietnam the same slot is held by the cat, which is a useful reminder that this is a system people inherited and adapted, not a fixed truth handed down whole.

What it is carried for is getting through a change without hardening.

Is this your sign?

The Rabbit years are 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011 and 2023.

But the zodiac year begins at Chinese New Year, not on 1 January, and that date moves between 21 January and 20 February. A birthday in January or the first half of February usually belongs to the animal before. The box on the product page does that sum for you.

Your own zodiac year

Every twelfth year is your own animal's year again — běnmìngnián. Traditionally it is the year people wear their own sign, and it is the usual reason one of these is bought as a gift. The next Rabbit year is 2035.
